Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-06-09

1. License grant & updates

A DeviceShelf licence is a one-time purchase. It grants you a perpetual, non-transferable right to use the version of DeviceShelf you purchased — this right does not expire, and there is no subscription.

Your purchase includes all updates within the same major version: if you buy DeviceShelf 1.x, every 1.x update (bug fixes, improvements and new features released as 1.1, 1.2, …) is included at no extra cost.

A future major version (for example 2.0) may be offered as a separate, optional paid upgrade. Upgrading is never required — you may keep using your purchased version for as long as you wish.

One licence covers one user on an unlimited number of that user's own devices. DeviceShelf is available on macOS, Windows and Linux today; iOS and Android apps are planned and, once released, are covered by the same licence. A 7-day free trial is available before purchase.

2. Acceptable use

DeviceShelf scans the local network the device is connected to. You may only scan networks that you own or are authorised to scan. You are responsible for complying with all applicable laws and with the policies of any network you scan. DeviceShelf is a diagnostic and security-audit tool, not a tool for unauthorised access.

3. Refunds

14-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked — on top of the 7-day free trial. Email [email protected].

4. Warranty & liability

DeviceShelf is provided "as is". We do not warrant that the software is error-free or that its device identification and security findings are complete or accurate. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid, except where mandatory law provides otherwise.

5. Governing law

Switzerland. Place of jurisdiction: Kreuzlingen, Thurgau.
